Celebrating the Birth of the Buddha

The Blue Mountain Lotus Society, a contemporary Buddhist community in Harrisburg, will host its annual celebration of the Buddha’s Birth, also known as the Flower of Oneness Festival, from 3 to 4 p.m., May 2. Everyone is welcome to attend and celebrate the birth of the Buddha within. There will be a special ceremony and presentations and the awarding of the John A. Stultz Compassion in Action Award.

This award has been given out annually for the past 16 years to those in Central Pennsylvania that exemplify compassionate action in our community. This year’s recipients are Nathaniel and Patricia Gadsden. Nathaniel is a life skills coach, poet, poet therapist, minister and motivational speaker; Patricia is the founder and director of Life Esteem, Inc., through which she conducts workshops and seminars for businesses, state agencies, colleges, school districts, educational agencies and organizations, civic and church groups.
