Lisa Ramsey, owner of Tranquility Salon & Wellness Center, in Carlisle, has been in the spa and salon industry for more than 30 years. Just over five years ago, she opened up her business and says, “At that time, there wasn’t a natural, holistic salon in Carlisle, so I decided I wanted to be the one to provide that to our community,” she recalls. In addition to haircuts, coloring and styling, her full-service Aveda concept salon also offers ear candling, waxing, organic nail care and other spa services, including a Himalayan salt cave, ion cleanse detox and infrared sauna.

Recently, the opportunity arose to expand her space, and the new spa and salon is open at 257 Penrose Place. “I’ve always wanted to offer more services and do everything that I could to make Tranquility Salon & Wellness Center even more guest-friendly,” says Ramsey, who notes that she couldn’t be more pleased with the results of the renovation. “It turned out better than I could have imagined. I really love the atmosphere and the overall feeling of the spa.”

With the larger space, Ramsey is able to expand on the spa’s offerings. “We’re now able to offer an even wider variety of massages, wraps and other services, like natural spray tanning. We’ve also added a coffee and healthy drink bar,” says Ramsey, who is excited about one of the spa’s newest amenities. “Lypossage is a special massage technique that helps flush away cellulite and fat toxins. Our lypossage technician Christi is amazing. While lypossage treatments on their own provide great results, when combined with the ion cleanse detox and infrared sauna in a spa package, toxins can be removed from the body even faster,” she says.

Ramsey shares that she and her staff all share the same mission to ensure that every guest feels welcome and pampered. “We want them to feel as though they’ve been whisked away to some tropical island for a little while. We’ve created the ultimate, soothing environment, where our guests can really have an opportunity to unwind, relax and rejuvenate.” Ramsey credits much of the welcoming, positive atmosphere at Tranquility Salon & Wellness Center to her outstanding staff. “I definitely have to say that the staff we have right now is some of the most loyal and talented people I’ve ever worked with. We are a great team. All of us are constantly working together to make our salon and spa the best it can be,” she says.

In addition to launching the new spa side, Ramsey and her team have also been adding more amenities to the salon side of Tranquility. “Right now, we’re kicking off nonsurgical hair replacement services for men and women dealing with balding or thinning hair. Getting this treatment can really help boost a person’s confidence if they’re dealing with hair loss. Our technician Elizabeth has had extensive training in this non-surgical hair replacement method. I have to say, the before-and-after photos are unbelievable. You really have to see these results for yourself. It’s not your old-fashioned toupee; the results look and feel like real hair. Nobody would know the difference unless you told them,” she explains.

Our Spa Director, Jillian Koser, is also perfect at planning down to the detail with parties.”
