Rickie Freedman, reiki master and owner of Reiki by Rickie, in Harrisburg understands that time away can be good for the soul. The second Healing Water Holistic Cruise, which sets sail from January 21 to 28, 2017, is a chance to combine a perfect vacation with healing activities inspired by the power of water. “Last year’s experience proved that water is really powerful in healing,” Freedman says. “It was a really unique experience, and this year we want to continue and grow that.”

Freedman notes that participants will enjoy all the regular activities people enjoy on a cruise, in addition to workshops and private sessions with featured healers, vendors offering personal growth products and events designed to bring people together. “We’ll be starting with an intention circle, where everybody can contribute to the group intention and their personal intentions for what they’d like to learn and how they’d like to grow,” Freedman says. “We’ll also have more reiki shares this year, an under-the-stars water healing ceremony and a drumming circle on the beach.”

The Norwegian Cruise Line trip, co-produced by Joanna Scott, of Scott Travel, in Mechanicsburg, departs from Port Canaveral, Florida, to Tortola, St. Thomas, and a private island. In addition to Freedman, other healers onboard include Rachel Grundon, of Lux Convergence, and Suzanne DeWees, a medium and healer.

Freedman’s Harrisburg practice is informed by her physical therapy background and practice of integrative medicine. She works to educate the community about the powers of reiki and the importance of energy and balance.

“My goal is to have reiki become a bigger part of our local culture,” she says. “My desire is for everyone to realize how natural this is, and that there’s nothing new – or new-age – about it. People have been sharing healing with their hands for as long as there have been people.” “I manage the practice as I live my life,” Freedman continues. “It’s heart-centered and service-oriented. Love comes first, and that’s unique in the business world.”

Freedman holds workshops on stress management and chakra healing in Harrisburg and hosts guest healers and speakers. She plans to extend the same philosophies of alignment and peace to the attendees of the cruise. “There will be lots of unique experiences for the cruisers and for us as healers,” Freedman says. “It’s an atmosphere that will be fun, relaxing and healing for everyone involved.”
