Coping with the #MeToo Phenomenon

Deborah Collins

Deborah Collins, MSW, owner of Debs Connections, is conducting a workshop, Be Your Own Buddha, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., February 6, at the Adams County library. It is designed to help people gain recognition of their present emotional state. “The techniques I have developed through the use of art in my work as a trauma therapist can uncover blocks to becoming the highest and best self in a safe and fun environment,” says Collins. The participants will do a soothing exercise involving crayons using the Buddha motif to mirror their present self and act as a gauge for what they hope to achieve.

Collins states, “Though there is cause to celebrate the uncovering of #metoo as a cultural crisis, there is still work to be done when people realize that they may feel worse, instead of better. I have a method of helping through my workshop and the techniques that I present.”
