There is Always Enough Love to Share

Hearts, like every part of us, are made of energy. This is science. Having our heart energy balanced is the center and key to all of our energy being balanced, and ultimately a more resilient and peaceful life. According to the HeartMath Institute, the electromagnetic field of our hearts is many times larger than that of our brains, and our hearts send more signals to our brains than vice-versa.

In many traditions, it is believed that our energy emulates that of the Earth, which also has an electromagnetic field. Sedona, Arizona is considered one of the power centers of the world, along with Mount Shasta, Macchu Piccu and several others. The Earth has spiraling vortexes of energy that vibrate at different frequencies, as do we. In Sedona, the actual trunks and branches of the trees spiral with the force of the energy.

The most common personal energy system spoken of in Western culture includes seven major energy centers (chakras), each vibrating a specific frequency from our root connecting us to the Earth, to our crown connecting us to the high frequency energy that surrounds and connects us all. The center and key to our entire system being balanced is our heart.

This is the balance of giving and receiving love, the balance of self-love with sharing love with others, and the balance of Earthly love with divine omnipresent love. Many of us are very good at sharing, but struggle with feeling worthy and deserving of opening and allowing ourselves to receive. We may have been taught to believe that we need to take care of others before taking care of ourselves. However, allowing ourselves to be nurtured is the least selfish thing we can do. When we are “filled up”, we can share with others from a healthy place and allow energy to flow through us. Otherwise, we can become drained, burned out and resentful.

Reiki is a heart-centered, unconditionally loving, healing practice that helps to balance our energy. Everyone can connect in this way whether they have received reiki training or not. Just place hands over heart and breathe deeply with the intention of love and healing. When our hearts and energy are in balance, we stay healthier and we can be a healing presence for others without ever draining our personal energy. We are the light of the world.
