Bringing Yoga to the Kids

Ann Fields

Peaceful Poses Kids Yoga, open since the fall, is a kids’ yoga business that travels to preschools, public and private schools and youth organizations to teach kids yoga in the South Central Pennsylvania area. Yoga mats are provided for the preschool classes to give them the complete yoga experience.

Owner Ann Fields says, “Peaceful Poses Kids Yoga strongly believes that yoga is for everyone. We are able to provide classes for special needs children, including children in wheelchairs. Also, kids learn about kindness, respect for themselves and others, confidence and mindfulness. Children learn to develop focus and calm their thoughts. The impact of yoga goes off the mat and can stay with your child for a lifetime.”

She notes, “Themed classes are one-half-hour long and designed just for preschoolers. Peaceful Poses Kids Yoga also goes into schools and teaches after-school programs for grade school through high school. These classes are usually 45 minutes to one hour in length. The third part of our programming is we travel to youth organizations such as Girl Scouts, Boys Scouts, all kinds of summer camps, martial arts studios, homeschool associations, etc.”
