The Girl Rising monthly meetup series is intended for girls between the ages of 10 and 13 with a focus on mentoring, positive connection, empowerment and the celebration of girls through personal development discussions, expressive arts and community supportive games. This group is limited to six girls because small groups allow for connection, intimacy and more individualized attention.

A parent introductory session will take place from 2 to 3 p.m., September 8, to discuss the aims, methods and guiding principles of the group. Girls meetup sessions will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. on the third Sunday of the month from September through May 2020.

Founder Jennifer Slothower says, “This meetup group does not aim to provide advice, but a framework for girls to gain confidence, find their voices, form healthy relationships, create positive lifestyles and change the world!”

Cost is $30 each month or $250 for all nine months including nine girl meetups, two mother and daughter meetups, all craft and art supplies, and organic snacks.
