Natural Awakenings South Central Pennsylvania

After 20 Years, The Healthy Grocer Under New Ownership

William Roche & Jeff Wolfson

As The Healthy Grocer celebrates its 20th anniversary of offering consumers a natural and organic alternative to groceries, produce and supplements, founder Jeff Wolfson is retiring and turning over the reins to new owner William Roche.

Roche, originally from Illinois, says, “I am very excited about the opportunity presented to me. When I first looked at The Healthy Grocer, I could tell it was something special. After performing an enormous amount of research, I realized The Healthy Grocer was the place to find specialty, health related food products in Central Pennsylvania. The aspects of the business that really impressed me were the knowledge base and friendliness of the staff, as well as the smiling faces of employees and customers.”

Wolfson expanded the store many times, growing from a 2,000-square-foot space to its current 7,000 square feet while customers saw a growth in the variety of products and educational opportunities. The Healthy Grocer has always worked to remain on the cutting edge of advancements in the natural and organic arena.
