Home to the Brownback family since 1978, Spiral Path Farm is located in scenic western Perry County, between the Tuscarora Mountains and Blue Ridge Mountains. The family farms all of its 255 acres naturally and has been certified organic since 1994. They grow a variety of vegetables, herbs and annual fruits, and are committed to farming practices that build the fertility of the soil and health of the farm and surrounding woodlands, while providing healthy, fresh produce to customers. Spiral Path is currently celebrating 20 years of sharing its bounty with members of its community supported agriculture (CSA) program.

Owner Terra Brownback says the CSA is a convenient way for people to buy fresh, in-season produce directly from a local farm. Harvest season begins in April and thanks to onsite greenhouses, extends through December. Individuals and families can sign up anytime—even after harvest and delivery begins—for weekly delivery to a convenient pick-up site in the member’s area.

Dedicated to encouraging people to learn more about where their food comes from, Spiral Path holds Open Farm Days once a month. Shareholders can tour the farm, participate in children’s activities and more. “It helps make the farm a reality for them, and we love sharing it,” says Brownbeck.
