Mindful Yoga for Anxiety and Depression
Red Head Yoga is offering a six-week program, Mindful Yoga for Anxiety and Depression, that meets once a week, beginning from 1 to 3 p.m., December 1. Participants will receive the tools necessary for adults to be able to handle life in a holistic way using yoga philosophy, Emotional Freedom Technique, meditation, and yoga practice to teach positive ways of dealing with today's life problems.
Owner Cindy Beers says, “For many people dealing with depression, anxiety or stress, yoga may be a very appealing way to better manage symptoms. The scientific study of yoga demonstrates that mental and physical health are not just closely allied, but are essentially equivalent. The evidence is growing that yoga practice is a relatively low-risk, high-yield approach to improving overall health. Yoga appears to modulate stress response systems, which reduces the heart rate, lowers blood pressure and eases respiration.”
