Giving Children a Second Chance at Life

Abigail Phillippy

The Pressley Ridge Community Residential Rehabilitation (CRR) Treatment Foster Care Program has recently expanded the counties from which the program accepts youth to include Lancaster, Cumberland, Dauphin, Perry and Franklin counties, plus the existing York and Adams counties, and hired a new recruitment and certification specialist, Abigail Phillippy.

Phillippy trains and prepares individuals interested in becoming treatment foster parents. She is supportive in the certification process every step of the way by providing specialized training to increase knowledge and skills pertaining to working with youth. Training hours are available days and evenings.

The Pressley Ridge CRR treatment foster care program serves youth 5 to 21 years old that have special behavioral needs and require professional treatment and counseling. This program focuses on the strengths of each child, provides individual and family therapy, and a individualized plan is developed for each child. Since 1832, Pressley Ridge has understood that all children can change and grow and that all families can use support.

Location: 141 E. Market St., York. Call Phillippy to learn how to volunteer to help a child at 717-845-6624, ext. 21602, or email at [email protected].  For more information, visit PressleyRidge.org. See ad page 32.
