Help for Hurricane Victims

Jessica McCoy, owner of Mending Roots Wellness, is donating $10 from every massage to raise funds for hurricane victims. She is asking the community to open their hearts and bring donations of, socks, underwear, feminine products, diapers, wipes, blankets, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, hand sanitizers and drawstring bags from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesdays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays to Mending Roots through the end of October.

“I dare you to ask yourself what it would be like to lose everything in an instant—no food or shelter, nowhere to go—because everything has been destroyed. How would we feel? What would we need? What kind of help would benefit the most?” says McCoy. “When we put ourselves in the shoes of someone who has experienced this, it really puts things in perspective. Here we are going about our daily lives as usual, while people are suffering and praying for help in the midst of devastation.”
