Pediatric Massage Available at Home or in Office

Jillian Breneman, LMT, CPMT, believes pediatric massage is more important than ever, due to the growing number of children being diagnosed with mental and physical disorders and diseases. She offers therapy for children from 2 to 11 years old at home or in her new office at 401 East Louther Street, in Carlisle

Breneman is one of the few licensed massage therapists certified in pediatric massage in central Pennsylvania. She received training from the leading organization for Pediatric Touch Therapy education, The Liddle Kidz Foundation.

“Pediatric massage has many benefits for children, whether they are well or have special healthcare needs,” says Breneman. “Techniques differ from massage for adults due to differences in the growing anatomy of children. Benefits may include reduced anxiety and tension, reduced pain, improved long-range emotional and cognitive development, improved healing/immune function, relaxation for the parent or caregiver, improved focus and attention span, improved muscle tone, joint mobility, respiratory function, sleep patterns and gastrointestinal function. Sessions are usually shorter, and are practiced on a mat rather than a table.”
