Young Farmers Come to Market

Seppi Garrett and his daugther

For children that are training to be a gardener or a budding entrepreneur, Farmers on Walnut invites them to explore selling their wares at the farm market. They allow only local food vendors, and will be hosting a Junior Vendor Market Day on August 14. The Thursday afternoon market near Borough Hall, in Camp Hill, will offer youth under the age of 18 table space in order to sell their wares that day.

Junior vendors are required to either harvest their fruits and vegetables within a 50-mile radius of Camp Hill or create goods like soap or candles that include local ingredients.

Farmers on Walnut offers a mix of fresh foods from produce, meat, baked goods and dairy every week. Along with direct-from-the-farm foods, the market offers prepared foods and other rotating products made from local ingredients. Children’s activities, education and music make the whole experience more fun.

Location: 2145 Walnut St., Camp Hill. For an application, email [email protected]. For more information, call 717-713-0236, or visit FarmersOnWalnut.org/description.
