Dan Coma

Dan Coma, RYT, C-IAYT, of the University Fitness Center at Penn State Hershey Medical Center, recently became a certified yoga therapist, recognized by the International Association of Yoga Therapists.

Coma has been teaching kundalini yoga at Penn State Hershey for 10 years and specializes in helping people with chronic illness, especially anxiety. He uses evidence-based techniques shown to be effective in reducing anxiety and collaborates with physicians and counselors to develop programs to meet the needs of clients facing chronic illness. He says, “Yoga therapy is an emerging field, and rigorous training standards must be met in order to be certified. People can be confident in the C-IAYT credential.”
