The West Shore Branch of the Harrisburg Area YMCA will host the seventh annual Health Fair and Group Fitness Sampler from 9 a.m. to noon, September 29. The free event offers wellness information, screenings and fitness testing by local health and wellness organizations to promote wellness within the community. Visitors can get a taste of the Y’s group exercise classes from 9 to 11:45 a.m., with a full menu of fun, calorie-burning classes offered in 30-minute demos. Facility members that bring in a guest will be entered in a raffle for YMCA prizes.

Deeply rooted in the community, the nonprofit organization’s movement is made up of people of all ages, faiths and abilities working side-by-side to ensure that everyone, regardless of gender, income or background, has the opportunity to live life to its fullest. The Y offers programs, services and initiatives focused on youth development, healthy living and social responsibility according to the unique needs of the communities it engages.

The West Shore Branch has four indoor pools, a full-size gymnasium, elevated running track, wellness center, aerobic studio, free-weight center, racquetball courts, spinning room, teen center, waterpark, a 14-foot water slide and an adult community center.
