Tai Chi is Valuable for All Ages

Juli McGreevy

Studio Solomon is starting new tai chi classes from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursdays for students of all ages and levels with instructor Juli McGreevy, a well-respected teacher in the local martial arts and tai chi community.

The focus of these classes is on balancing the lessons for wellness and self-defense that can be learned from this traditional Chinese martial art. By nature, tai chi is an adaptable martial art that has something to offer everyone; teenagers coping with anxiety, adults looking for stress reduction, athletes cross-training for team and endurance sports, and older adults warding off falls.

The slow, flowing, movements and deep breathing of tai chi help people of all ages develop and maintain bodies and minds for general fitness and wellness through core strength; overall muscular strength and endurance, particularly in the lower body; improved range of motion and flexibility; and better body awareness, agility and reflexes.

Location: 310 S. 10th St., Lemoyne. For more information, call 717-329-2955 or visit StudioSolomon.com.
