What do I do now? Balance for Life and a DBT Style Skills Group
This group will provide in-person support and next step guidance for those coming out of inpatient for mental health or addiction recovery. Each week we will focus on one element of recovery to learn skills related to emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, parts (IFS approach), healthy relationships, boundaries, communication, growth mindset, mindful movement, and more topics falling within the 8 dimensions of wellness (intellectual, emotional, social, environmental, financial, physical, spiritual, and occupational wellness). Essentially, our goal is to rebuild your life from the ground up, taking you further away from what isn’t serving you and moving you toward a life that supports your needs and goals.
Whether you’re fresh out of the hospital, recovery center, or half-way house, or just at a place where enough is enough and you need to do something now– this is the place for you. All interested participants will be interviewed and screened to assess fit. Group limit of 15 people. Enrollment is on a rolling basis. The first 30-45 minutes will be education and the rest of our time will be discussion, questions, reflection, practice, and implementation. Content taught will be dependent on discussion and needs week to week.
