HACC Offers Tuition Discount for Nurses Enrolling in Massage Therapy

The public is invited to learn more about the massage therapy program offered by Harrisburg Area Community College (HACC), during an open house from 1 to 4 p.m., April 30, at the Hall Technology Center 203, on HACC’s Harrisburg campus. Nursing professionals looking to add job skills or considering a career change are eligible for program-tuition discounts.

The 700-hour course of study is designed to prepare students for employment in healthcare as massage therapists in private or group massage practices, health clubs, fitness centers, chiropractic or medical offices, nursing homes, health spas and resorts, cruise ships, sports medicine facilities and physical therapy centers. Students can enroll in a six-month, full-time format or a twelve-month, part-time evening program.

HACC’s massage therapy program is a member of the American Therapy Association’s (AMTA) Council of Schools, and its curriculum has been approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. These affiliations ensure that qualified graduates can take the National Certification Exam and become a nationally certified massage therapist, a credential respected throughout the massage industry.
