Dr. Chris Turnpaugh, owner of Brain Balance Center of Mechanicsburg, was a featured speaker at the Brain Balance National Convention held in Las Vegas last month. Turnpaugh presented to fellow Brain Balance partners, colleagues and peers about childhood nutrition, functional medicine and its importance in relation to autism, ADD/ADHD and developmental disorders in children and teens.
Brain Balance Achievement Centers offer the Brain Balance Program in 30 nationwide locations. The program is an individualized and comprehensive approach to helping children with neurobehavioral and learning difficulties surmount their unique challenges. “At Brain Balance, we believe that proper diet and nutrition are critical elements to the successful treatment of neurobehavioral disorders,” says Turnpaugh. “We’ve discovered that proper nutrition goes hand-in-hand with fostering proper connections and improving function in the brain.”
Turnpaugh received his bachelor’s degree in economics and pre-med from Bloomsburg University and is a 1995 graduate of Life Chiropractic College. In 1997, he became board certified in chiropractic neurology. In 2011, he opened the Brain Balance Center of Mechanicsburg to further serve the community of children with neurobehavioral disorders.
