Summer Camp at Heritage Creek Farm

Heritage Creek Farm Camp, in Mt. Joy, will be offering one-week summer camp sessions for children ages 5 through 12 this summer from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., June 18 to 22, July 16 to 20 and August 20 to 24.

The camps impart valuable life skills through cooperative work and creative play. The kids will enjoy hands-on activities rooted in the simplicity of nature that teach a variety of socially responsible and environmentally friendly lessons and illustrate how individual actions can make a difference in the world.

Heritage was a recent recipient of a grant from Raising Organic Family Farms that will be used to expand their organic food production and increase their educational outreach. According to co-founders Cindi Hughes and Rochelle Hildreth, Heritage Creek Farm provides the opportunity for people to participate in the growing of their own food, while learning to become better stewards of the Earth. “Through educating people in organic farming practices, we hope to cultivate a new generation that values a healthy lifestyle and understands the local and global responsibilities of taking care of our environment,” states Hughes.
