Established in 1994 by Dr. Linda T. Stern, the Avian and Feline Hospital, in Camp Hill, is a full-service, holistic veterinary hospital specializing in preventive care. The unique practice offers many modalities of veterinary medicine including traditional, homeopathic, herbal, nutritional, behavioral and more.

Stern received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State University in 1987 and holds a master’s degree in animal nutrition and immunology. Over the years, her holistic services have continued to grow with the addition of modalities designed to help heal her patients. She is also currently trained in food therapy, veterinary orthopedic manipulation (VOM), cold laser therapy, Chinese and American herbs and homeopathy, and is certified in veterinary acupuncture. She says her goal is to consistently provide the highest level of veterinary care to her patients and to support and individualize the health care program for her clients’ beloved animals. “My passion is for the pets,” notes Stern.

When the Avian and Feline Hospital was launched, Stern says she cared only for birds, cats, small mammals, reptiles and exotic animal patients for both holistic and traditional medical care. Because no one else in the area provided such comprehensive holistic services, Stern started accepting dogs, horses, alpacas, llamas and other patients strictly for holistic care. “The results on these patients using holistic treatments have been remarkable and very rewarding,” she says.
