Thermography of the breast area can help female patients detect early warning signs that breast cancer may be developing. According to Dr. Brett Bellis, it takes 8 to 10 years for a dime-size tumor to be detected by mammogram. Digital infrared imaging can provide the first signal that such a possibility is developing. Scans can be taken of the entire body, or just areas of concern. The digitized images are encrypted for privacy, stored in a computer and then sent electronically to a team of thermologists (certified doctors) for interpretation and reporting.
