Sixth Annual Strawberry Moon Gathering

The 108 Farm Strawberry Moon 648 Family Gathering, in Amberson, is a farm event that showcases local musicians and artists to support free-flowing creativity, community connections and general wellness. It shares and promotes music, camping, community and wellness among attendees.

The event was co-founded by biologist Gary Smith and Ayurvedic consultant Rebecca Smith. After selling microgreens at Carlisle’s Farmers on the Square in 2020, the farm event took root as an “anti-social gathering”. At the private, curated experience of the arts amid the trees of the Tuscarora Forest in a magical primitive campground, Gary says, “We strive to provide a home-cooked vibe. That said, come prepared. Bring food and water. Food vending is available, yet limited. Necessary sanitary requirements are provided, including hand wash stations. You can pre-order pizza and subs from Marianna’s fundraisers with the 108 team.”

The farm and community continue to grow together. The Strawberry Moon Family Gathering is more like a private party than a music festival, and all attendees and participants are screened against the National Sex Offender Registry.

Musicians play two-hour sets late into the night for more music and fewer sound checks. Friday night is Electronic Dance Music Take Over with 11 DJs. Saturday is the Bands’ Break Down with seven original bands playing Pennsylvania’s take on guitar music crossing a wide variety of genres.
