Farm Advocates’ National Meeting

The Second National Meeting of Farm Advocates, organized by the Farm Advocate Link, a project of Farm Aid and RAFI-USA, and co-hosted by the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture (PASA), will be held September 20, at Purcell Friendship Hall of the Milton Hershey School, in Hershey. The meeting runs all day and leads into Farm Aid events on September 21 and the Farm Aid 2012 concert, at Hersheypark Stadium, September 22. The meeting will include a special session on hydrofracking and farm advocacy.

Experienced, new and aspiring farm advocates are urged to attend. The focus is on training new advocates, sharpening and sharing skills of experienced advocates and developing the Farm Advocate Link, a new national farm advocates network. The meeting agenda, built by a core group of experienced and new advocates representing more than 20 farm support organizations from around the country, includes interactive training, support, mentoring and networking workshops and opportunities for all that would offer direct, one-on-one services to struggling family farmers and ranchers.
