Family Scarecrow-Making at Farmers On Walnut

Farmers On Walnut, a producer-only farmers’ market, will hold a scarecrow-making event from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m., October 4, at the Camp Hill Borough Building, in Camp Hill. A fun autumn activity, children and adults can get creative and make their own scarecrow to decorate the porch or yard for the season. All supplies will be provided.

During the event, guests can purchase fresh produce, meats, dairy, baked goods and more from farmers located within a 50-mile radius of the market. Full-season vendors include Dancing Creek Farm, Earth Spring Farm, Everblossom Farm, Jade Family Farm, Keswick Creamery, Lark Rise Farm Bakery, North Mountain Pastures, Otterbein Acres, Oylers Organic Farms, Pecan Meadow Farm, Pretty Meadow Farm, Roots, Rex Farms Orchard, Sunset Valley and Three Springs Fruit Farm, as well as weekly guest vendors and half-season vendors.

Farmers on Walnut is a nonprofit volunteer organization comprising farmer and community members. The market offers customers superior quality and freshness, unusual varieties and a chance to support local agriculture and meet the farmers that grow their food.

Cost: Suggested $5 donation for small scarecrow, $10 for large. Location: 2145 Walnut St., Camp Hill. For more information, visit FarmersOnWalnut.org or find them on Facebook.
