Weight-Loss Program Promotes Overall Health

Health coaches Cindy Shimmel and Charlene Leland, both certified by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners, have partnered to provide a six-month weight loss program, from 6 to 7 p.m., two Tuesdays per month, beginning January 8. The program, designed to improve overall health, is offered in a group setting, with individual support and motivation provided. Participants follow step-by-step guidelines prepared by Shimmel and Leland, receive meal ideas and educational information and have the opportunity to taste new, healthy samples.

“We decided to join forces and offer people twice the support, enabling us to cut the personal health coach costs in half by offering group sessions, where our support is key,” explains Leland. “It's not just about healthy eating. A new lifestyle change is obtainable with support in all areas of life, some of which may have prevented you from ever reaching your ideal weight and keeping it off forever.”

Both women graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition’s (IIN) health coach training program, where they studied more than 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques and innovative coaching methods with some of the world’s top health and wellness experts.
