Lexi Abeln, a registered nurse and certified childbirth educator at Om Baby Pregnancy and Parenting Center, has been selected as a Nurse of the Year finalist in Central Penn Parent’s 2013 Healthcare Heroes awards. The awards recognize individuals that have made outstanding contributions to the Central Pennsylvania healthcare community. Abeln will attend the awards ceremony April 5, at the Sheraton Harrisburg-Hershey Hotel.

Beyond teaching excellent childbirth preparation classes at Om Baby, Abeln volunteers her time to provide support groups at Om Baby for expecting parents and families, as well as women and partners that may be dealing with unexpected and sometimes traumatic birth experiences.
