The Unknown Muscle Massage & Wellness has a variety of new services available this summer. Licensed Massage Therapist Kimberly Robinson will offer free sessions to returning service personnel suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, head injury or any symptoms of physical or emotional distress, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the first Saturday of each month, beginning June 8. The sessions are by appointment only and clients must obtain and read Waking the Tiger, by Peter Levine, prior to beginning services.
Licensed Clinical Nutritionist and wellness educator Sharon Rill will teach a complimentary Medicine Cabinet Makeover class from 2 to 4 p.m., one Saturday per month, starting May 18. Participants will learn how to use plant-based medicine in the form of certified pure therapeutic-grade essential oils to manage, prevent and eliminate symptoms or conditions.
Jessie Youtz, LMT, will provide workshops for new parents to learn how to massage their babies in a supportive and calming environment. Denise Bostdorf, LMT, will teach R & R Fusion, which will begin by introducing some gentle movements that include beginner yoga, t’ai chi warm-ups and basic stretching to help muscle and joint health. Self-massage techniques will also be taught to alleviate stress. In addition, Joni Shaffer, a registered yoga teacher, will provide semi-private yoga lessons.
