Get Healthy & Stay Healthy with Dr. Tana Nazar

Dr. Tana Nazar

Tana Nazar, DC, draws from her own healing experience to help people learn how to get healthy and stay healthy. After serving in the military, Nazar’s health deteriorated, with herniated discs in her neck, numbness and tingling in her hands, very low energy, headaches and pain in her neck and shoulders.

“I was sick all the time, experiencing unbearable headaches and sleeping about 20 hours per day,” says Nazar. After three years of drugs and physical therapy, the doctors at the VA hospital diagnosed her with chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia and explained that there were no treatments. “I was speechless. I just wanted to know what was wrong with me and what I needed to do to get better,” she says.

She decided to see a nutritionist and chiropractor, and after following diet and nutritional recommendations, it became apparent to her that the combination of proper nutrition to provide the healthy building blocks of life, along with a properly functioning nervous system, are the two main keys to health and healing. She went on to earn her Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the New York Chiropractic College and has since completed hundreds of additional hours of postdoctoral studies in nutrition. For 16 years now, she has been helping people get the most out of life, stating, “I am passionate about helping people improve their lives and getting them excited about doing things they haven’t been able to do in a very long time.”

Nazar treats the young and old, sometimes seeing entire families at the same visit. She says, “I’m now treating the third generation within some families that have been coming to me since the beginning of my practice.” She holds special certification and training in sports and athletic injuries, making her an ideal member of an athlete’s wellness team. According to Nazar, many athletes get adjusted prior to competition for optimal performance.

Education is a cornerstone of her practice, and she offers free workshops on a variety of topics such as weight loss, headaches, low back pain, how to increase one’s energy, osteoporosis, preventing cancer and her popular Power Posture exercise program. “The body is a self-healing mechanism. When health is lost, I help people learn why it was lost, how to regain it and then how to maintain it for the long term,” says Nazar.

Upcoming workshops include Developing Your Own Personal Wellness Plan, at 5:30 p.m., November 5. Nazar will help attendees set and accomplish health and wellness goals heading into the new year. On November 19, she will present Losing Weight the Natural Way, with tips on nutrition and proper eating, especially around the holidays. All workshops are held at her Harrisburg office.
