Dr. Layton is a biological general dentist with more than 38 years of experience caring for the dental needs of children and adults, receiving her degree with the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Biological dentistry combines the techniques and artistry of traditional general dentistry with a focus on the implications oral health has on the entire body. Her focus for the last eight years has been the safe removal of mercury fillings (amalgam), and she is accredited with the International Association of Oral Medicine and Toxicology to utilize specific protocol for this procedure. Her practice utilizes ozone for sterilization and for the prevention and treatment of tooth decay and gum disease.
Layton has attained mastership and lifelong learner status with the Academy of General Dentistry and spends many hours as a lifetime learner and educator. A degree as a medical naturopath allows Layton to assess the overall health of those that seek her care and assists in her many referrals to alternative providers for continuing care.
