Community Conversations via Playback Theatre
May 02, 2015 10:29PM
We Belong, a series of creative conversations, will explore community, diversity and belonging using the interactive Playback Theatre on May 9 at the Unitarian Universalist Church of York, and June 13 at the York YWCA. The series is facilitated by the River Crossing Playback Theatre ensemble, which invites and brings to life stories from the audience.
We Belong invites stories of belonging that relate to sensitive issues such as race and sex and addresses the presence of isolation and division in our local community. In Playback Theatre, audience members are invited to react to questions and tell stories related to the theme. Each story is given new life by the improvisational ensemble, becoming part of a diverse dialogue of community concerns and celebrations.
Admission is $7 suggested donation. Locations: church, 925 S. George St.; YWCA, 320 E. Market St. For more information, call 717-382-8292 or visit RiverCrossingPlayback.org.
