As part of World Breastfeeding Week, Om Baby Pregnancy & Parenting Center, in Camp Hill, will participate with registered locations around the world to all latch on their child beginning at 10:30 a.m., August 1. Registration begins at 10 a.m. Women that register at Om Baby for The Big Latch On will receive an entry to win a breastfeeding mini-session with Mary Ramirez, a local professional photographer. The winner will receive 20 minutes of shooting time a $50 in print credit.

All the breastfeeding women and babies simultaneously remain latched on for one minute and are counted by the witnesses. The numbers are added up and groups try to beat previous Big Latch On records

The World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action organizes World Breastfeeding Week to mark the signing of the WHO/UNICEF Innocenti Declaration, which lists the benefits of breastfeeding, plus global and governmental goals.
