Drug Free Workplace PA is hosting a family education program event on October 17 to educate teens and adults about the dynamics of addiction. Topics include family roles, science of addiction, risk behaviors and self-help resources.

Case Manager Jean Leisher states, “Drug addiction affects almost every person in the country either directly or indirectly. It is important to move this terrible disease out of the shadows and into the light where it can be fought as a community.

“Addiction directly affects at least one in four families in the United States. It is widely believed that addiction is the problem of the user, but that notion could not be more wrong. Addiction hurts the entire family unit in ways that the family may be unaware of.”
