Palmyra Real Food Emporium Adds The Local Butcher

The Palmyra Real Food Emporium has expanded and opened a meat shop, The Local Butcher, featuring local, grass-fed, grain-finished beef and pastured pork. Owner Tom Maurer says, “Our goal is to create a place that complements the Emporium's mission and the community can come for high-quality food at a fair price in a friendly atmosphere.” Beef cuts include porterhouse, T-bone, New York Strip steaks cut to order, skirt, flank and flatiron steaks, roasts, ground beef and more.

Pastured pork items include roasts, chops (including signature brined pork chops), ham, sausage and bacon. There at least eight kinds of fresh sausage, including the featured sausage of the month, and eight kinds of sliced-to-order bacon, including country-style, hickory smoked, cherry smoked, pepper smoked, dry cured, butcher cut, rasher and Canadian.

Specialty meats include kielbasa, bologna, scrapple, deli ham roast beef and more. Palmyra makes all items on the premises. Some of the hams and bacon are nitrate-free, and all are made with natural ingredients and no synthetic fillers, additives or preservatives.
