Sonnewald Community Yoga Free for Veterans

New community yoga classes in Spring Grove are being sponsored by Sonnewald Natural Foods and the Sonnewald Life Institute from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursdays and 9 to 10 a.m. Saturdays at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ.

Instructor Alena Frejya, who goes by the nickname “Alena Interrupted”, conducts the classes as a meditative yoga flow and emphasizes that it's good for beginners, but accessible for all levels. Yoga has been shown to be very healing for conditions like veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and more.

Frejya is both talented and inspiring, making students feel at home while challenging them to be better. She studied at the renowned Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health, and also has experience with reiki, which she sometimes incorporates into her classes.

Marketing Coordinator Stephanie Schuessler states, "This is just the first step along that road until the Sonnewald Life Institute gets the Stoverstown Community Center up and running. From there, the opportunities are limitless.”

There is a suggested donation of $10; veterans are admitted free. No one is turned away. Location: 2173 Stoverstown Rd., Spring Grove, PA. For more information, email Schuessler at [email protected].
