Experience Cocina Now at Just Plain Yoga

Cocina Now, From the Heart of the Flamenco Kitchen: Flamenco, Gypsy Jazz and Poetry, a cultural event for Poetry Month at Just Plain Yoga Studio, in Camp Hill, from 7:30 to 9 p.m., April 23, will be a night of live music and poetry with some of Harrisburg's most gifted artists, including the Poet Laureate of Harrisburg, Rick Kearns.

Kearns is a percussionist who accompanied the well-known flamenco guitarist Paco de Nada for more than 20 years. Kearns was a member of the flamenco groups Danzante, Cocina Flamenca and the duo Zambra Flamenca (with Nada).

Also performing as part of Cocina Now will be John Catalano a passionate guitarist, composer and teacher based in Camp Hill; Jennifer Millard, a gifted singer and guitarist who specializes in gypsy jazz, flamenco and some Parisian chanson; Patrick Murphy a first-rate jazz trumpeter who also plays flugelhorn, coronet, harmonica, an electronic wind instrument, electric bass and a variety of Latin percussion instruments.
