Charity Gift Drive for Teens and Tweens

Cheryl Ciambotti

Local nonprofit Perhaps Today Ministries (PTM) International is collecting tax-deductible donations through December 23 for kids from 10 to 18 years old. This campaign is a spin-off of Toys-for-Tots that focuses on the often overlooked older children in Christmas toy drives. PTM staff will purchase child specific gifts with the donated funds and distribute them to needy families in the community.

Cheryl Ciambotti, certified recovery specialist, founder and CEO, says, “With so many organizations growing bigger and more expensive, PTM has kept costs down and has very little overhead, due to the counselor donating her time and all the workers and directors serving as volunteers. The donations go directly into providing services such as counseling, benevolence funds and education to clients.”

PTM is different because they offer their services on a donation basis with no fees. The average cost for counseling services in the industry ranges from $80 to $300 per hour, which is often cost-prohibitive for many clients that greatly need help.
