The Friendship Center

The 64,000-square-foot Friendship Center, in Lower Paxton Township in the heart of the Harrisburg area, has something for everyone. The mission of the Friendship Center is to provide high-quality, cost-effective recreation services in an individual and family-oriented environment. The staff and volunteers are committed to accommodating the needs and interests of all age groups by providing opportunities for education, social, health and fitness programs in a facility that is safe and inviting.

From infants to seniors, the busy center is a bright spot on the radar for many in the community because of their daily routines. Located next to Dick’s Sporting Goods off Route 22, this family, fun and fitness facility is mostly teeming with smiling faces engaged in friendly fun and recreation. It’s a great place to visit to meet your fitness goals or host a private party.

The Friendship Center, boasting lots of glass for scenic views, offers a fitness center, a social hall with pool tables and televisions, a gymnasium with basketball, volleyball, pickle ball courts, a walking track, aerobic and spin rooms, a senior center, a preschool and party rooms.

There’s even an indoor water park, comprising a recreation pool with a waterslide, spray features, whirlpool and therapy and lap pools. The center offers more than 100 programs for infants, preschool, youth and teen, adults and seniors. The programs are available to both members and nonmembers, and many special events are offered to the community at minimal or no cost.

Friendship Center Director Lynn Wuestner says, “We welcome everyone to stop by for a free tour, visit our webpage, follow us on twitter or like us on Facebook. Consider joining our family for both fun and fitness.”

The Friendship Center is located at 5000 Commons Dr., in Harrisburg. For more information, call 717-657-5635 or visit
