Gardner’s Mattress & More: Enhancing Community Wellness with the Gift of a Good Night’s Sleep

Dec 02, 2016 09:33PM ● By Gisele Rinaldi Siebold

Gardner’s Mattress & More, located in Lancaster, is dedicated to educating people about getting a good night’s sleep. Store owners Ben McClure and Jeff Giagnocavo will do whatever they can to make that dream a reality because they believe that waking up happy and pain-free after a restful night’s sleep contributes to wellness.

Gardner’s showroom is filled with natural and organic products. They currently carry nine, 100 percent certified organic mattress options from healthy sleep providers Organicpedic by OMI, Savvy Rest and Naturepedic. In addition, Gardner’s carries over 20 natural foam rubber mattresses made without harmful chemicals—at affordable prices.

As the names suggests, Gardner’s stocks more than just mattresses, including natural and certified organic pillows, sheets, protectors, pads, toppers and SavvyRest platform beds with low- and zero-VOC finishes. Many accessories are on display at the store, and those not on display can be ordered.

Customers can build, refill or remake a custom pillow at their Fill Station Pillow Kiosk. A five-year re-fluffing and adjustment guarantee comes with each purchase. Custom fills include buckwheat hulls, goose down and shredded natural rubber––natural materials that are good for allergy sufferers. Customers can choose materials, thickness and comfort, creating the perfect pillow. Each year, for five years, pillows can be re-fluffed or readjusted for firmness.

An adjustable sleep system offers several great benefits. First, all of their mattresses are designed to relieve pressure, as well as give the ultimate in lumbar support. When put on one of the adjustable bases, the sleeping experience is enhanced to a whole new level. Keeping the body in its natural sleep position reduces the pressure on the body’s skeletal frame more than 85 percent, ensuring the deepest, most restful sleep possible.

Gardner’s offers three suggestions for better sleep. Request their free educational consumer guide, entitled “What’s Keeping You Up at Night”, to learn how to overcome common mattress buying mistakes. Visit The Dream Room, a private mattress testing room designed to allow a unique opportunity to “try before you buy” any mattress in the showroom, in a no-pressure, quiet environment. The room is essentially a sleep sanctuary, adjacent to the showroom, totally private and void of other customers and salespeople. Gardner’s is the only mattress store in Lancaster County that offers such an experience. Finally, buy from Gardner’s to receive their one-year Comfort Guarantee. “No one else offers this level of service,” notes McClure.

“If you’ve been frustrated with, or concerned about, the mattress that you sleep on, we make it easy to choose a new one because we are the local resource for natural and organic products. Nearly half the showroom is dedicated to natural and organic mattresses and accessories,” shares McClure. “There are many choices, in a variety of price ranges, including inexpensive options. Don’t assume you cannot afford to get a restful night’s sleep. We offer interest-free financing upon approval, as well as different payment solutions.”

To keep positive community wellness flowing, McClure and Giagnocavo are launching Gardner’s Gives Back. When customers purchase a mattress, they are given a cloth grocery bag to donate non-perishable items. Once the mattress is delivered, a staff member takes the filled bag back to the store. Gardner’s will collect the non-perishable items and donate them to local food banks and shelters. In addition, Gardner’s will match any donations.

With a mission to help their customers achieve the daily rhythm of a good night’s sleep, McClure and Giagnocavo are serious about providing superior customer service. “To us, selling a mattress or a piece of furniture is not just a job or something we take lightly,” explains McClure. “Our customers are our neighbors, our friends and even our family. Their sleep, and ultimately their health and well-being, are important to us.”
