Natural Awakenings South Central Pennsylvania

Healthy Buildings Make for Healthy Communities

The U.S. Green Building Council Central PA will conduct the annual GreenCon from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., March 16, in Gordinier Hall at Millersville University. The premier green building conference and expo in central Pennsylvania, this year’s theme is Healthy Buildings → Healthy Communities.

The keynote speaker is Stacy Glass, vice president of built environment for the Cradle to Cradle Products Innovation Institute, in California. She will focus on sustainability, healthy building materials, eco-labels and certifications, and lifecycle thinking. Because Americans spend 90 percent of their time indoors, the green building industry has a strong focus on healthier building materials, increased ventilation rates and more access to natural daylight, as well as views of nature.

There will be more than 12 breakout sessions and an expo hall with 35 exhibitors for the expected 200 to 300 attendees.

Location: 30 S. George St., Millersville, PA. For more information, call 202-706-0836. To preregister, visit usgbc.org/event/greencon-2017.
