Heavenly Harmonious Harp Music
Louis Lynch, music director of the Harrisburg Harp Orchestra, has released a CD of meditation music composed for harp, flute and piano. The seven pieces are specially composed to focus on the body’s seven natural energy centers, or chakras.
Sharon Nelson, a professional flutist from Boiling Springs who performs locally in several classical and early music ensembles, is also featured on the recording.
Unlike other CDs designed for meditation that rely on electronic music or recordings of nature sound, the new CD features organic music on acoustic instruments such as harps, flutes and recorders and folk percussion that have existed for centuries for a natural feel and essence. The music is melodic and memorable, yet highly relaxing and unobtrusive. Compositions are paced with natural rhythms to complement their respective meditations: grounding, passion, comfort, compassion, voice, vision and devotion.
