Natural Awakenings South Central Pennsylvania

Hike it Baby Teaches a Generation to Love the Outdoors

Hike it Baby, a national organization that encourages parents to get out into nature and be active with their children, launched a branch in South Central Pennsylvania in September 2015. Hike it Baby Harrisburg conducts from five to more than 15 hikes per week year-round on weekdays, weekends and evenings. A Leaf Crown Craft & Stroll will take place on May 3, Fairy Hike (where children will dress like fairies or other creatures of the woods) on May 9, Kids to Parks Day on May 20 and National Trails Day on June 3.

Members can hike with other families to help minimize the effects of postpartum depression in new parents, create a network of like-minded individuals, help discover new parts of their area and teach children an appreciation for nature from birth and beyond.

Membership is $10 per year and provides access to the calendar and discounts on merchandise. For more information, visit HikeItBaby.com.
