Mending Roots Wellness offers a full menu of services that include massage, life coaching, nutrition, yoga, tai chi and workshops in the heart of Camp Hill. Founders Tami Hornidge and Jessica McCoy embrace life and care deeply about providing a safe place that supports healing. As licensed massage therapists who view massage as a necessity for the health and longevity of the body, they provide customized treatment sessions for all of their clients. In addition, classes and workshops are available on a regular basis, featuring a wide range of topics to promote overall health and well-being.
A team of like-minded individuals shares their vision for healing. Holistic nutrition therapy is offered by Licensed Dietician Nicole Sharkey. Brook Euler is a Barton-certified dyslexia specialist who provides educational services for children and adults, as well as homeschool families.
Yoga classes are offered by trained instructors Chelsea Parcels, Bobbi Misiti, Karen Weber, MaryJane Wertz, Sabrina Kish and Zoe Woodward. Dan Grossberg guides the practice of tai chi taijiquan, an exercise, martial art and moving meditation. Bhante Soma is a Buddhist monk from Sri Lanka who offers meditation and dharma talk on Saturdays, free of charge; donations are appreciated.
Bobbi Misiti, founder of BeFit Body and Mind Yoga, closed her business and then reopened at Mending Roots in February of 2017. She teaches ashtanga yoga and travels worldwide to facilitate workshops.
The Healing Hub is a boutique area within Mending Roots Wellness that sells unique items made by local and regional artists such as candles, handbags and jewelry. Other items for sale include Floracopeia organic and wildcrafted essential oils, floral essences, salves, body lotions, soaps, and more. Soon, natural tinctures for those suffering from chronic ailments will be added to the selection.
With the goal to expand healing services to include acupuncture, chiropractic, counseling and psychotherapy, Hornidge and McCoy invite practitioners interested in sharing the space to contact them. McCoy shares, "Our vision is to be a healing sanctuary where people feel safe. Healing starts within, and we encourage, support and empower people along their journeys.”
“We are so grateful to the people we work with for sharing their gifts of healing with us and the community," says Hornidge.
