Sponsored, hosted and coordinated by Red Head Yoga, a women's summit, Building Bridges: Women Coming Together, will be held from 1 to 4:30 p.m., August 12, at Highmark Caring Place, in Lemoyne, to raise awareness of cultural diversity and unconscious bias.

This special event is for women to come together as one to meet and learn from other women from different cultures, with many community leaders as speakers. The main speaker is Shirley Moore Smeal, executive deputy secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. Others include Rev. Yvette Davis, Aaysha Noor, Lakshmi Shrikantia, Samia Malik and Raine Dawn. Community leader and author Ann Van Dyke will serve as mistress of ceremonies and lead small group sessions throughout the afternoon.
