The American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) designates October as National Physical Therapy Month, designed to recognize the physical therapists and physical therapist assistants that make such an impact in patients’ lives by helping them restore and improve motion and relieve pain through movement.
Follow MoveForwardPT on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest, and share to help raise awareness of choosing physical therapy to alleviate pain rather than covering it up by taking highly addictive opioids.
In addition to using movement, stretching and exercise to alleviate pain, physical therapists also educate patients about the source of pain and help them improve range of motion, strength and flexibility.
