Over the last 70 years, Sleighters Furniture and Sleep Shop has seen a lot of changes in the furniture and bedding industry. New innovations have led to more choices than just standard mattress or one-size-fits-all recliners. Today, furniture is designed not just for , but also to address health-related issues. Locally owned and operated since 1947, Sleighters and its team have worked with many second- and third-generation customers to help choose furniture and bedding to best fit their needs.
Many of their clients seek their ultimate in lift and recline chairs, which feature a powered lift and reclining mechanism which is ideal for people of all ages because it allows them to put their body in just the right position for ultimate comfort and relaxation. “When we work with customers to select a recliner, one thing that is very important is to fit the customer in the right chair, one that will give them head, back and leg support,” says Smith. Sleighters stocks more than 25 different Lift and Recline chairs, which he notes is especially important for customers to find the proper chair to fit their needs.
Because most people spend one-third of their lives sleeping, they have a unique way of displaying mattresses: The Savvy Rest collection of certified organic, allergen-free bedding allows Sleighters to adjust the mattress to the customer’s specific comfort level. “The mattress begins with three layers of organic latex, and then that can be finished off with another three-inch layer of soft organic latex or a Woolsey mattress topper. We literally build the mattress for the customers support and comfort needs,” explains Smith.
When Sleighters delivers the Savvy Rest mattress to a customer’s home, it is assembled within a casing of certified organic cotton and wool, allowing the buyer to change the layers or even replace layers if their comfort needs change. “We also offer adjustable bed bases with our mattress. This allows you to elevate the head or foot end of the bed, as well as the Incline bed base, which inclines the mattress from head to foot, up to eight inches for acid reflux relief.”
Through a personable, no-pressure approach, the Sleighter’s team encourages their customers to take their time when making furniture or bedding decision. “This is something you live with for many years and will have an effect on your health and well-being,” Smith says. “We’ll help you make the right decisions.”
