Improving Quality of Life Through Movement

October is National Physical Therapy Month, a time when the profession attempts to teach the public how they can become healthier and feel better with movement. Physical therapists are pain and movement specialists; they treat more than accident victims or those with surgery or sports injuries.
Millions suffer daily with chronic pain that is not entirely physical in nature. It encompasses many variables, and some are difficult to explain. Movement allows us to learn how to manage what we feel, gradually building to a higher level by finding a specialist that works with those stuck in pain.
There is a select group of professionals that specializes in helping people get out of chronic pain, using movement to avoid missing family outings, take a trip that has been put off due to pain and regain their quality of life.
Learning about pain, the body and how to move again can lead us back to the healthy life we desire. Think how great life would be if we could move with even 50 percent less pain. The time is now to begin the journey back to better health through movement and a more natural pain-relief solution.
