Frankincense, used as a perfume, in skin salves and for sacred practices in ancient times, is highly versatile in uses and benefits. The essential oil has an aroma that may promote feelings of peace and overall wellness by adding three to four drops in a diffuser to accompany morning meditation or yoga practices. Added to a moisturizer lotion, it may help rejuvenate skin and reduce the appearance of skin imperfections. To freshen up a space, combine frankincense essential oil and other oils with water in a spray bottle to spritz on carpet, furniture or in the air as a deodorant.
doTERRA frankincense essential oil, taken orally by adding one to two drops in a vegetable capsule, may support healthy cellular function. Applied to the bottoms of feet, it may promote feelings of relaxation and balance mood, which can be especially helpful during the holiday season.
doTERRA labels essential oil bottles where appropriate for internal use. Not all essential oils are tested and held to a standard of therapeutic quality. Consumers cannot expect that other essential oils are safe to use aromatically, topically or internally unless the manufacturer labels the bottle accordingly. It is recommended to keep essential oils out of reach of children, and that pregnant or nursing women, or people under a doctor’s care should consult a physician prior to use.
