Be Part of the First Earth Love Festival

The nonprofit Amethyst Retreat Center will host the inaugural Earth Love Festival all day June 30 and July 1, with the message Water is Life: A Celebration of the Susquehanna. Organizers say, “Internationally renowned speakers and peace activists, Native American women and musicians, local food, nature, inspiration, education, drumming, dancing, connecting, protecting. loving, peace and  community will serve as an ode to the water that sustains us.”

Headliners include Navajo leader Pat McCabe; Charles Eisenstein, author of Ascent of Humanity; and researcher and storyteller Michael Wann. Dinner will be mindfully and lovingly prepared by chef Karmen Kline, using local and regional foods. Breakfast will feature seasonal fruit and accompaniments from local farmers, bakers,and cheese makers.

Bhante Soma, of Blue Lotus Buddist Temple, will hold a Sunday morning peace meditation. A Healing Village with the area’s finest body workers and spirit guides will be available by donation.

Admission is $75 18 and over, $50 student and $5 for kids Under 18. Camping is optional.
